Description
Dog Breed: Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed (short coat). Meet Cleo and Marcus â an adorable bonded pair looking for a calm, patient, and understanding home. These two sweet dogs are still learning that the worldâand the people in itâcan be kind and safe. They can be a bit fearful at first and will need a gentle, slow approach as they build trust and confidence. With time, compassion, and consistency, Cleo and Marcus have so much love to give. They would do best in a mature, low-traffic home with adopters who are committed to helping them come out of their shells at their own pace. Watching them grow more comfortable and confident will be an incredibly rewarding experience. To help set everyone up for success, their adoption includes a special visit from a member of our behavior team, who will provide guidance and support as they settle into their new home.If youâre ready to open your heart and home to two deserving pups and help them discover that life doesnât have to be scary, Cleo and Marcus are waiting to meet you.

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
