Description
Dog Breed: Yorkshire Terrier Yorkie / Mixed. Teddy Roosevelt—affectionately known as Teddy—is a perfect blend of snuggly couch potato and playful goofball. One minute he’s curled up beside you soaking in all the love, and the next he’s got the zoomies, ready to play and make you laugh. Teddy is a smart, entertaining pup who knows how to keep himself busy—whether it’s tackling a food puzzle or tossing his toys in the air like his own personal game. That said, his favorite way to play is with his people or a doggy friend. He may come on a little strong at first with new dogs, but once he warms up, he settles in just fine. His favorite things? Being close to his humans, going for walks, car rides, mealtime, and of course—playtime. He’s not a fan of rainy days or being in a crate, but he is a big fan of praise and will happily soak up every “good boy” you give him. Teddy would thrive in a home with kids who can keep him engaged or another playful pup to help burn off his energy. He’s still working on potty training but is picking it up quickly, especially with consistency and encouragement. If you’re looking for a loyal, fun-loving companion who will keep you smiling and always be by your side, Teddy Roosevelt is ready to lead the way right into your heart. Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
