Description
Dog Breed: Cattle Dog / Mixed. Tilly is a young mama who was found living at an abandoned house, doing her best to survive. While out there, she gave birth to three puppies and did everything she could to keep them safe. Thankfully, kind neighbors stepped in to help, giving Tillly and her babies a chance at a better life. Despite everything she’s been through, Tala is incredibly sweet and friendly—she gets along well with the other dog on the property and has so much love to give. Now that her puppies are safe and looking for homes, it’s Tilly’s turn to be cared for. She’s ready for a stable home where she can learn a routine, build confidence, and finally experience what it means to be part of a family. Tilly is ready to leave her past behind and start her next chapter—could that be with you?

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
