Description
Dog Breed: Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed (short coat). Meet our sweet girl Olivia N This precious girl has been through so much in her life. She found herself lying on the cold ground in a shelter, at risk of being euthanized—but we couldn’t let her story end there. Olivia is a 2.5-year-old pit mix, weighing about 35 lbs. She is vaccinated, microchipped, and spayed. She’s good with people and does well with other dogs when introduced properly. Olivia would thrive as someone’s one-and-only—a loyal companion who just wants to be by your side. She truly loves being “her person’s” dog and will give you all the love in return. She deserves a second chance. Too many people have let her down, but we believe her perfect home is out there. If you’re interested in adopting, fostering, or fostering to adopt Olivia, please contact the rescue. Let’s give this sweet girl the life she deserves

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
