Dog Breed: German Shepherd Dog / Mixed. Benji is a 1-year-old, 90 lb German Shepherd mix with a lot of potential and personality. He’s smart and already doing well with basic commands, but he’ll require someone experienced in working breeds—especially German Shepherds—who can provide consistent structure and continue his training. Benji is currently a bit overweight, but he’s a great candidate for getting back to a healthy weight with regular exercise and a balanced routine. He enjoys being active and will benefit from an owner who can help keep him moving and engaged. He’s the kind of dog who will take a mile if given an inch, so he needs a confident handler who can set clear boundaries and follow through. He’s eager to learn and does best when he has guidance and support. Benji would do best in a home without cats or small animals. He can feel overwhelmed around multiple dogs, so he’ll thrive either as the only dog or with a calm, non-reactive companion. Because of his size and sensitivity to busy environments, Benji would be happiest in a home with older children who understand how to interact respectfully with a larger dog. He does best in a calmer, more structured setting where he can feel secure and supported.
