Description
Dog Breed: Boxer (short coat). Adoption Fee: $320.63 includes all applicable MN sales tax. This gorgeous brindle boy is on his way to his Minnesota foster home on 4/11. We are so thankful to his temporary Kentucky foster home for keeping him safe and happy until transport. Rocko's owner passed away and family could not keep him. We were told that he is good with other dogs his size and also formerly lived with an older cat. He has been the SWEETEST boy in his temp foster home and has gotten along with all dogs and cats there. He also has done very well with kids and no jumping on them. Rocko is housebroken and he is fully vetted. Please check back for more info on him soon!!

Breed overview
Boxer
A.K.A.: Deutscher Boxer, German Boxer, Dutch Boxer, Boxer dog, Boxy, Boxerman
Overview:
The Boxer is a medium-sized, short-haired dog breed of German origin, known for its distinctive appearance and vibrant personality. Physically, Boxers possess a strong, athletic build with a characteristic square head, an undershot jaw, and often a docked tail and cropped ears (though these practices are becoming less common). Their short, glossy coat typically comes in fawn or brindle, often with white markings. Temperamentally, Boxers are renowned for being incredibly loyal, intelligent, and energetic, making them fantastic companions for active families. They thrive on human interaction and can be playful and patient with children, making them excellent family pets. While their energy levels require regular exercise, their adaptability means they can adjust to apartment living if their activity needs are consistently met. However, potential owners should be aware of certain health considerations, including a predisposition to some cancers, heart conditions like cardiomyopathy, and hip dysplasia, underscoring the importance of responsible breeding and regular veterinary check-ups.
