Description
Dog Breed: Golden Retriever / Labrador Retriever / Mixed (short coat). Sunny, Golden Retriever/Lab mix , Yellow, Female spayed, 2 years old Sunny is such a sweet and happy girl! She will wiggle her entire body when she sees you, and just loves everyone that she meets! Sunny seems to enjoy the company of other dogs, but her energy level may be too much for some. She would do best with a family that can continue to work on her training and socialization, and might do best with children over the age of 12 years old. **This dog is at the Ocean County Animal Facility South located at 360 Haywood Rd, Manahawkin NJ (off of Garden State Parkway South Exit 63) Adoption hours 1-4 p.m. 7 days a week. Breed overview
Overview:
The Golden Labrador, a delightful hybrid often referred to as a Goldador, is a popular cross between the Golden Retriever and the Labrador Retriever. Originating from designer breeding programs, these intelligent dogs inherit the best traits from both beloved parent breeds. Physically, they are medium to large-sized with a muscular build, typically sporting a dense, water-repellent coat in shades of gold, yellow, or cream. Their temperament is exceptionally friendly, loyal, and eager to please, making them outstanding family pets that get along well with children and other animals. While adaptable, their energy levels necessitate regular exercise, making a house with a yard preferable over strict apartment living. Though generally healthy, potential health considerations include hip and elbow dysplasia, common in both parent breeds, and certain eye conditions. Overall, the Golden Labrador offers a wonderful blend of intelligence, affection, and trainability, making them a fantastic companion for active families.
