Lil Buddy is 14 months old, (DOB 8-1.3-24), male, 50 lbs., vetted, is or will be neutered, and micro-chipped. Lil Buddy was found abandoned and homeless. He is an adventurous, affectionate guy with a goofy streak that will keep you smiling. Athletic and confident, he brings a fun burst of enthusiasm to his day and enjoys staying active and engaged. He loves carrying his toys around and entertaining himself by tossing them in the air. Curious and treat-motivated, he knows how to sit and is always ready to learn more. After a good play session, he loves to soak up all the butt rubs he can get! Weenies and cheese are Lil Buddy's choice for treats. He appears to be house-trained, was calm around a 12 yo young person, plays nicely with other dogs, big and small, and has medium energy. Stay tuned for more information as Lil Buddy is a new rescue! A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
