Description
Dog Breed: English Bulldog / Boston Terrier / Mixed. About Me Bernice is a 6-year-old English Bulldog/Boston Terrier mix with a one-of-a-kind look to match her one-of-a-kind personality. With her red merle/brindle/white coat, signature bulldog wrinkles, and those expressive eyes, she’s equal parts adorable and unforgettable. Bernice just arrived in rescue after being found abandoned at a local dog park, and while we’re still getting to know her, one thing is already very clear—this girl loves her people. Since arriving, she’s been a total shadow, happily following along wherever you go and soaking up every bit of attention she can get. She’s goofy, endearing, and comes fully equipped with all the classic bulldog charm… snorts, snuffles, and all. So far, Bernice has done wonderfully with dogs of all sizes and has also been good with cats, making her a great candidate for a multi-pet home. We’re still learning about her house manners—she may need a refresher on potty training—but she’s settling in and showing us more of who she is each day. Like many bulldog mixes, Bernice will need a home that understands and is prepared for the unique care that comes with her breed, including skin fold care and keeping her comfortable and healthy. Right now, Bernice is decompressing and discovering what it means to feel safe and loved. As we continue to learn more about her personality, preferences, and needs, we’ll be sure to share updates—but if you’re looking for a loyal, snuggly, slightly snorty sidekick, Bernice might just be your girl. Stay tuned for more on this sweet, silly lady. WHERE IS THIS PET LOCATED? The Rescue Crew is a foster-based rescue, which means all of our pets are cared for in homes throughout Minnesota. More About English Boston Bulldog BreedOverview:
The English Boston Bulldog, a charming hybrid born from the union of the Boston Terrier and the Bulldog, offers a delightful blend of its parent breeds. Originating from designer breed efforts to combine desirable traits, this medium-sized companion typically exhibits a sturdy, muscular build, often with the distinctive flat face and expressive eyes reminiscent of both ancestors. Their coat is usually short and low-maintenance. Temperamentally, they are known for being affectionate, loyal, and generally good-natured, making them excellent family pets. While they enjoy playtime, their exercise needs are moderate, making them surprisingly adaptable to apartment living, provided they receive regular walks. Prospective owners should be aware of potential health considerations common to brachycephalic (short-nosed) breeds, such as respiratory issues and heat sensitivity, as well as joint concerns like hip and elbow dysplasia. Regular veterinary care and a balanced diet are crucial for their well-being.
