Description
Dog Breed: Shepherd / Mixed. Pennington County Humane Society 🐾 Meet Ingrid Mixed Breed Adult Loving, Loyal, and Ready for Her Own Spotlight Ingrid is a super‑sweet, affectionate girl who adores people of all ages and is happiest when she's soaking up attention. She recently weaned her pups and is more than ready to enjoy a life where she gets to be the one in the spotlight. This smart, eager‑to‑please mama has earned her chance to be someone's number one. She's house trained, walks well on a leash, and loves going for car rides. Ingrid prefers a home without other dogs not because she's difficult, but because she truly wants all the love to herself after giving so much of it to her puppies. If you're looking for a loyal companion who will bond deeply and love you with her whole heart, Ingrid might be the perfect match. Ingrid is available for direct adoption or transfer to a trusted partner. For inquiries, contact Pennington County Humane Society at 218‑681‑8045. Pennington County Humane Society

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
