Dog Breed: Terrier / Mixed. Kaiser is a 10-month-old pup with so much to learn and even more love to give! While he may be a little shy and skittish at first, his big heart is already shining through. With patience, positive training, and encouragement, he’s truly on his way to becoming something special. He’s eager to please, loves to snuggle, and has a playful side—especially when it comes to toys (in Kaiser’s world, there’s no such thing as too many!). Once he feels safe, his sweet and affectionate personality really starts to bloom. Kaiser is looking for someone who will help him build confidence through positive experiences, basic training, and socialization. With the right person by his side, he’s going to grow into an amazing, loyal companion and best friend for life. Kaiser is good with dogs, kids, and cats! He can get a little overexcited at times, but with continued training and guidance, he’s learning how to channel that energy in the best way.

A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
