Dog Breed: Unknown breed (short coat). Meet Babbels! This adorable young girl is a 1.5-year-old mixed breed with a gentle spirit and a heart full of love. With her soft, light-colored coat and expressive eyes, she has a naturally endearing presence that draws you in. She can be a little shy at first, taking her time to feel comfortable in new situations, but once she gets to know you, her sweet and affectionate personality truly shines. She enjoys being close to her people, offering companionship and plenty of love. Babbels weighs around 22 lbs, She is spayed and full of youthful energy. She would do best with a patient adopter who will give her the time and reassurance she needs to blossom into her most confident self. In return, she’ll be a loyal, loving companion who makes every day a little brighter! Our hospital is open for adoption visitation Monday through Friday from 7:30 to 5:00pm and Saturday's from 8:00am to 11:00am. To speed up the adoption process please visit our webiste, .mmahrescue, to fill out an application and get pre-approved when you arrive to meet your new best friend! Prior to meeting an adoptable animal we do require an approved application to be on file, sorry for this inconvenience. Cat adoption fees are $50 for kittens under 16 weeks of age and $75 for kittens/cats over 16 weeks of age. Dog adoption fees are $150 for puppies under 16 weeks of age and $175 for dogs over 16 weeks of age.

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
