Description
Dog Breed: Cocker Spaniel (medium coat). Adoption Fee: 350. Welcome to Cocker Nation Rescue of Michigan! Don't forget to visit our channel at Youtube lMeet Buddy Buddy is an almost 5 month old Cocker Spaniel with a big personality and an even bigger heart! This happy, loving boy is always ready to please and thrives on attention, affection, and fun. Buddy is not ready for his forever home just yet but will be shortly! Buddy is currently working on potty training and doing great for his age. He can have a excited or nervous pee/ dribble but with consistency and patience, he’ll continue to improve. He is already crate trained and proving to be a very food motivated, eager learner making training a fun and rewarding experience! This playful pup LOVES his toys and will happily play fetch with a ball for as long as you’ll join him. When playtime is over, he’s all about the cuddles and will gladly curl up with you for some love. Buddy can be a bit vocal when he hears new noises or meets new people, but once he gets his bark out and warms up, he’s incredibly friendly and affectionate. Because of this, he would benefit greatly from puppy classes and continued socialization. He is not suited for apartment or condo living and would do best in a home where he has space and an active lifestyle. Buddy would thrive in a home with older children who understand how to respect animals. He does great with other dogs and loves to play, though he does have some typical puppy behaviors (including occasional humping) that will need guidance and training. He doesn’t understand not jumping right now on people so this has a negative effect with young children that he does love! This sweet boy is looking for a committed family ready to invest the time, patience, and love that comes with raising a puppy. In return, Buddy will give you endless joy, laughter, and unconditional love. If you’re looking for a fun, affectionate, and loyal companion Buddy might just be your perfect match! located in South Lyon Michigan Adoption fee is $350 Adoption form can be filled out on our website

Overview:
The Cocker Spaniel, a beloved breed with roots in the United Kingdom, was originally bred as a gundog to flush out woodcock. They are instantly recognizable by their medium size, typically weighing 20-30 pounds, their luxurious, often wavy coat (which comes in a variety of colors), and their long, expressive ears that frame their gentle, eager-to-please eyes. Known for their merry and affectionate temperament, Cockers are generally good-natured, intelligent, and relatively easy to train, making them an excellent choice for families with children and even first-time dog owners. While adaptable, their moderate exercise needs can be met with daily walks and playtime, making them suitable for apartment living as long as they receive sufficient mental and physical stimulation. Prospective owners should be aware of certain health considerations, including ear infections (due to their long ears), eye conditions like cataracts, and hip dysplasia, which highlight the importance of responsible breeding and regular veterinary check-ups.
