Description
Dog Breed: Labrador Retriever. Meet Jerry At 3 years old, Jerry is that perfect in-between age, past the chaotic puppy phase, but still full of playful, goofy energy that makes you smile every single day. Jerry is a toy enthusiast, especially when it comes to squeaky toys, and if you’ve got a tennis ball, you’ve got his heart. Fetch? His love language. He’s the kind of dog who’s always ready for a game but also knows how to settle in and just be your buddy. He’s lived with both dogs and a cat before, and even did great with a young child, which says a lot about his easygoing, social personality. He’s housebroken and will let you know when he needs to go out (yes, he’ll politely bark instead of leaving you guessing ). Jerry is kennel trained and does well being left out to roam when you’re away. He’s used to having space to run (previously on an invisible fence), but he’s also been not hard to walk, which is a huge win. Car rides? Short ones = great. Long ones… he might get a little carsick, but hey, same, Jerry. A few things to know: • He loves ear rubs (like, melts-into-you kind of love) • He can be a little unsure around delivery people, just something to be mindful of • He’d thrive in a home with another dog or someone around during the day Jerry is one of those dogs who doesn’t ask for much: just some playtime, some love, and a place to belong. And in return? He gives you companionship, loyalty, and a whole lot of tail wags. If you’re looking for a sweet, playful, already-knows-the-basics kind of guy… Jerry might just be your perfect match You may find me on our website under "ADOPT

Overview:
The Labrador Retriever, a beloved and highly popular breed, originated in Newfoundland, Canada, where they were initially bred to assist fishermen by retrieving nets and stray fish. Physically, they are medium-to-large dogs, known for their strong, athletic build, short, dense, weather-resistant double coat (commonly seen in black, yellow, or chocolate), and their distinctive "otter" tail. Temperamentally, Labs are celebrated for their friendly, outgoing, and good-natured disposition, making them exceptional family companions. Their intelligence and eagerness to please contribute to their trainability, though they do require consistent exercise to prevent boredom and destructive behaviors. While adaptable, their energy levels make them more suited to homes with yards, or highly active families, rather than apartment living, unless daily extensive exercise is guaranteed. Regarding health, Labs can be prone to certain conditions like hip and elbow dysplasia, and some eye conditions, so responsible breeding practices are crucial. Overall, their loyalty, versatility, and affectionate nature firmly establish the Labrador Retriever as a wonderful addition to many households.
