Meet Zoe - A Survivor with a Heart of Gold Hi there, my name is Zoe, and I’m about 4 years old. I’m one of the lucky ones - rescued from a severe hoarding situation in Tyler, Texas, where over 180 dogs were found. While my story made the news, not all of my friends made it out. Because of that, I don’t take a single day of love for granted. Since being rescued, my foster mom says it’s been incredible to watch me blossom more and more every day. She believes I’m a mix of Doberman and Boxer, with those signature ears, a beautiful muzzle, and a sharp, intelligent mind to match. My Personality I am: Extremely loving and people-oriented – I adore humans of all ages Smart and eager to learn – I mastered the doggie door in just days Affectionate and cuddly – I’ll follow you around and happily curl up next to you for movie nights Playful but balanced – I love tennis balls and playing fetch, but I’m also calm and relaxed in the home A truly good girl – my foster mom says I’m an absolute catch Home Manners ✅ Fully house trained – no accidents in the house Sleeps through the night – whether in bed with you or in my crate ️ Respectful in the home – I don’t chew furniture or destroy things Low-key indoors, but always ready for fun when it’s time to play Social & Training I walk beautifully on a leash and truly enjoy my daily walks I’m polite when I see people and dogs out and about Because of my past, I was a little unsure around other dogs at first—but with time, patience, and love, I’ve learned to trust again Now, I get along well with my foster dog siblings… we even sleep together in the same bed with our human at night The Perfect Home for Me I would thrive in a home that offers: A loving, patient family who understands my past and continues to help me grow Daily walks and time to bond Another friendly dog is a bonus, but not required ✨ A Little Extra About Me I’m missing part of my left ear—but don’t let that fool you. It doesn’t slow me down one bit. It’s simply a reminder that I’m a true survivor, and it makes me even more unique and beautiful. ⸻ Zoe isn’t just a dog- she’s a second chance, a loyal companion, and a reminder of resilience. If you’re looking for a smart, affectionate, and devoted best friend, Zoe is ready to meet you.

Overview:
The Labrador Retriever, a beloved and highly popular breed, originated in Newfoundland, Canada, where they were initially bred to assist fishermen by retrieving nets and stray fish. Physically, they are medium-to-large dogs, known for their strong, athletic build, short, dense, weather-resistant double coat (commonly seen in black, yellow, or chocolate), and their distinctive "otter" tail. Temperamentally, Labs are celebrated for their friendly, outgoing, and good-natured disposition, making them exceptional family companions. Their intelligence and eagerness to please contribute to their trainability, though they do require consistent exercise to prevent boredom and destructive behaviors. While adaptable, their energy levels make them more suited to homes with yards, or highly active families, rather than apartment living, unless daily extensive exercise is guaranteed. Regarding health, Labs can be prone to certain conditions like hip and elbow dysplasia, and some eye conditions, so responsible breeding practices are crucial. Overall, their loyalty, versatility, and affectionate nature firmly establish the Labrador Retriever as a wonderful addition to many households.
