Description
Dog Breed: Hound / Shepherd / Mixed. A FUN & SUPER SWEET PUPPY: Approx. 7 months old / Approx. 31 lbs. & growing Hi, my name is Shiloh! I came to Mostly Mutts from animal control, and I got to spend some time in 2 wonderful foster homes and now I’m back at the MM shelter! I am enjoying my time here, and the volunteers just love me as did my fosters! I’m looking forward to finding my furever family and making each other happy! • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS: I got along fabulously with the two Goldendoodles that lived in my foster home. I’m a playful pup, and we all played very well together, as well as enjoyed lots of snuggling together. I also liked the dogs I met at Mostly Mutts. So, if you have a nice doggie that would like a puppy friend, let’s meet! / Cats unknown. / There was a 6-year-old in my former foster home, and we were good buddies. We would play, play, play – and I loved it! So, if you have kids, let’s meet and best no toddlers that I may bump over. • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL: My fosters described me as well behaved and full of sweetness and cuddles – ready and waiting to give and receive affection because I’m so glad to see you. I’m happy and sociable mixed in with a bit of mischievous puppy play as I will pick up anything I think is a toy … so keep an eye on those shoes, toys, socks, etc. – lol. We are sure to have great adventures together as I grow because I do like exploring and hanging out with my people, so let’s get started! / Energy level: 5-7. • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY: I'm in the Mostly Mutts University training program and have already mastered the ‘sit’ and ‘come’ commands and I look forward to learning more. Let's continue my training together with the free lifetime training classes that Mostly Mutts offers for all their adopted dogs. I’m looking for a family that will teach me everything I need to know to grow up and become a wonderful adult dog. / I had good crate manners in my foster homes and would sleep well there. I may whine at first if you put me in it to leave for a bit, but I settle down nicely. Sometimes, when I needed a nap or some rest time, I’d voluntarily go there to catch some zzzs or relax. / My potty habits are coming along very nicely with very few accidents. Please continue to be consistent with me on a good schedule, so I can fully master my potty skills. • LIKES/DISLIKES: I absolutely love toys and tennis balls are my favorite at the shelter! With stuffed toys, I will toss them to myself to play (so cute) and will carry them so gently while on walks – the bigger the better. I could be a professional cuddler with people and dog friends … when not playing, of course! / I’m not crazy about going down the stairs, but I was brave and learning it in my former foster home. I’m not a big eater but rather like to graze. I can’t think of anything else I don’t like, though like all dogs, I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. • MEDICAL: I'm current on my immunizations, micro-chipped and neutered. If you’re ready for the fun and excitement of having a puppy as well as the training commitment, then let’s meet! My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
