Dog Breed: Terrier / Mixed (short coat). Brian, a Terrier mix born 2/8/26, is the curious explorer of the bunch—the kind of puppy who wants to see, sniff, and experience everything. His adventurous spirit and endless curiosity make every day a little more fun (and a lot more entertaining!). He’s got a great balance of independence and affection. Sometimes Brian likes a bit of space to stretch out and nap, and other times he turns into the cutest little “puppy bagel,” curling up in a cozy spot between you and the couch like he fits there perfectly. Brian is currently working on potty training and does his best to use his puppy pads. His foster family is helping him learn that outside is the ultimate goal (with treats as motivation, of course!), and he’s making steady progress. This handsome boy has a unique coat with subtle brindle-like markings, especially around his face, giving him a striking and one-of-a-kind look. But his best feature? Those ears! They stand straight up in the air and steal the spotlight wherever he goes. Full of enthusiasm, silliness, and a love for adventure, Brian is the kind of pup who will keep you smiling and always wondering what he’ll discover next. If you’re looking for a playful, curious companion with a big personality and even bigger ears, Brian is your guy! Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
