Dog Breed: Shepherd / Belgian Shepherd Malinois / Mixed (short coat). Letty is a sweet, social 3-month-old shepherd mix who loves making new friends. She’s expected to grow into a medium-sized dog and will make a wonderful companion. She’ll be ready to join her new family after April 22nd. Before adoption, Letty will be spayed, microchipped, and up to date on her first four puppy vaccinations. All adoptions also include a complimentary in-home training session to help set you both up for success. Adoption fee: $450

In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics.
