Dog Breed: Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed. It’s Coffey… like the drink ☕ Just not spelled the same Hey there — I’m Coffey. A big, chocolatey XL Bully with an even bigger personality to match. I’ve got energy for days and I love to have fun. Whether it’s playtime, zoomies, or just soaking up attention, I’m all in. If you’re looking for a dog who’s going to keep life exciting and keep you on your toes (in the best way), I might just be your guy. I’ll be honest with you — I can get a little too excited sometimes. I’m working on my manners, especially the whole “jumping up when I’m happy” thing… I just get so pumped to see my people! Because of that, I’d do best with older kids who can handle my enthusiastic greetings. I’d also really love to be your one and only pet. I’ve got so much love to give, I’d rather not share the spotlight. What I really need is a home that will give me structure, exercise, and patience while I keep learning how to be my best self. A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
