Description
Dog Breed: Terrier / Mixed (short coat). Hi there, I’m Serena — your future cuddle buddy with the cutest wiggle butt in town! I’ll be honest… I can be a little shy when we first meet. New people and places can make me a bit unsure at first, but give me a little time and patience, and you’ll see my true personality shine. Once I warm up, I turn into the happiest girl you’ve ever met — and that’s when the full-body wiggles come out! My whole little booty gets going with excitement, and it’s pretty much guaranteed to make you smile. I absolutely adore people and love being part of your world. I’m the kind of dog who makes every day better just by being there, whether we’re hanging out at home or winding down after a long day. My favorite place to be is snuggled up right next to you on the couch, soaking up all the love and giving it right back. I get along great with other dogs (I actually love having doggy friends!) and have also done really well with kids, which makes me a great fit for many different families. Cats, though? Not really my thing — I’d prefer a home without them. I’m also working hard in foster care and doing such a good job! I’m making great progress with house training, and I’m excellent in my crate with no accidents. I might give a tiny little protest whine when I first go in, but I settle quickly and sleep peacefully through the night like a champ. One more thing about me — I’m all about the love. Praise means the world to me, and I’d much rather hear “good girl!” than get a treat. Your affection is my favorite reward. If you’re looking for a sweet, slightly shy-at-first, totally loving companion with the cutest wiggle butt around, I think we might be the perfect match. Love, Serena Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
