Percy, Animal ID#A60790598, Adult, Approx. 1.5 yrs, Male, 60 lbsI came into the shelter on 4/10/25 as an owner surrender.Make an appointment to meet me here: calendly/hcacc/Please contact the shelter directly 706-839-0195 for inquiries!General Info: .facebook/HcaccShelter/about This handsome long-haired boy may be almost 2 years old, but he is still every bit the playful puppy at heart. With a heart as big as his fluffy coat, he absolutely adores people of all ages and gets along wonderfully with other dogs. Kids??? He loves them. Stuffed toys?? He might love those even more – especially if there’s a good game of tug or toss involved! He’s fully house trained, so he’s already got the basics down, and he’s always ready for his next adventure – whether that’s a run in the yard, a playful romp with friends, or just soaking up attention from his favorite humans. Smart and eager to please, he already knows commands like “sit” and “paw” and he is highly motivated to learn more… especially when treats are involved!! He loves the water, loves other dogs. No chickens, or poultry as he loves to chase them.

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
