This adorable baja mutt is rescued from a home in Tijuana, Mexico in a bad situation. All dogs where tethered in the back yard, too many dogs who were so happy to be removed from that hell. We were able to remove most of the dogs although we had to euthanize a few of them, this little girl was one of the lucky few. We can are so happy we were able to help her as she is an AMAZING doggo! Cordie has been in San Diego since end of March. First she was boarding at the vet clinic while we vetted her, she is a healthy dog with all medical done. She has been staying at casa de ARWOB since early April and we have come to learn a lot about her. She is VERY dog friendly and she adores me (her caretaker /foster) she wants to be friendly wtih people BUT she is a bit scared when meeting new people/strangers who want to pet or approach her must go slow and give her time to warm up to them. Once she trusts you she is a great companion and friend. Cordie seems to ba a large breed dog in a small body. She will not grow to be larger than 30 pounds and is pretty much done growing. We state she is a terrier because she is likely a small breeds and large breed mixture in true fashion of a regular super mutt. She is house and crate trained. She is a great dog park dog and does well on walks and car rides. She would be a great match for someone with dogs at home or planning on being very active in dog friendly settings. She loves to run around zoomy style and be chased by other dogs to catch her. Would you like to meet her? submit an application NOW or text/email us to check her available status. We can schedule meet and greets any day of the week/weekend or stop by an event to meet her. If you would like to meet one of our animals, PLEASE fill out an adoption application. Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
