Description
Dog Breed: Unknown breed. I adopted Blare from Wake County Animal shelter in 2024. At the end of 2024, I lost my full-time job. In February 2026, my house was foreclosed upon, and I had to move to apartment. I now work over 80 hours a week 6 days a week. The one day I have off, I am applying and interviewing for full time accounting jobs, deciding on a new career path, taking care of regular stuff, and visiting my girlfriend an hour away. I do not have any time to take care of Blare, take her on walks, to the dog park (which she loves), or anything else. My mom is helping with her, but she will be out of town May-July, and no one I found can take foster her. **** Breed: alaskian husky **** Pet Link: .nokillnetwork/adoption/pet_detail.php?petid=2196571&flag=1

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
