Dog Breed: American Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed (short coat). Honey is a friendly and fun 7 year old pittie mix who came to us through our owner surrender program. She is a great dog who just wasn’t doing well with the toddler or cat in the home. She lived with other kids and loved them, but she did not appreciate being poked and pulled by the little one, so it is best for her to move to a home with children 5+. She gets along great with dogs and is friendly with all people (her tail was wagging from the moment we met her until we left). She loves belly rubs, rope toys, kongs, and snuggling. While she would love a yard to play in, she also loves walks and is good on leash. She is also good at being a couch potato and snuggling up with her people. She adjusts to the family routine. She is good in the car, getting baths and nails trimmed, and is well behaved when left home alone. We think Honey would make a great addition to almost any family without cats or small kids. She is here in NJ and ready for her new start! Honey will be brought up to date on vaccines and tested for heartworm. She has been spayed and will be microchipped. Her adoption fee is $300. Adopting a dog is a commitment that will require annual veterinary care at a minimum, training, exercise, enrichment, etc. Pet care is not cheap or easy and adopters should consider the costs, time and training prior to adoption. After all these dogs have been through, they deserve a loving, committed home.
