Dog Breed: Belgian Shepherd Malinois. At just 1 year old, Sassy has already been through a lot — but every week she’s showing us more of the amazing dog she’s meant to be. This sweet girl made her way from New Jersey and is now searching for the person willing to help her continue her journey. Beneath it all is an affectionate, loving dog who deeply wants connection and will make an incredibly devoted companion. As she settles into the world, Sassy is learning that she’s safe, but she still experiences some anxiety around loud noises and being left alone. Healing takes time, and she’ll need a home committed to helping her build confidence at her own pace. Sassy is looking for someone who can offer patience, consistency, and lots of love as she works through those big feelings. In return, you’ll get the privilege of watching an incredible dog blossom into the companion she’s always meant to be. She would thrive in a home with playmates and a job to do — whether that’s training, enrichment activities, adventures, or fun daily routines that keep her engaged and fulfilled. Sassy is smart, eager to connect, and wants to be part of the action. She doesn’t need someone perfect — she just needs someone willing to love her through the process. The applicant must drive the remainder of the distance of the transport. Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
