Description
Dog Breed: Terrier / Mixed. Currently located at our Evansville, IN location Meet Henrietta! Henrietta is a beautiful mixed-breed puppy with a sleek black coat, adorable white chest, and unique face markings that make her stand out. She came to us as a stray and she’s been growing and learning in a foster home ever since. This girl is full of personality! Henrietta loves being outside and would thrive with an active, outdoorsy family who can keep up with her adventurous spirit. She enjoys rough-and-tumble play with other dogs and would do great with a playful canine companion. After a day of fun, Henrietta is all about the cuddles and loves to snuggle up when it’s time to rest. She has a very sweet side, but she’s also a typical puppy who can be a bit stubborn at times. She will do best with a family that can provide consistent, firm (but positive!) guidance to help her continue learning and growing. Henrietta has already been working on basic puppy training in her foster home and is ready to keep building on those skills with her forever family. If you’re looking for a fun, active, and loving pup to add to your home, Henrietta could be your perfect match! Apply to adopt at itvrescue All of our dogs are examined by a veterinarian, given age-appropriate vaccinations, dewormed, microchipped, spayed or neutered, heartworm tested and treated if necessary.

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
