Dog Breed: German Shepherd Dog (medium coat). Meet Samson! Samson is a stunning 2-year-old German Shepherd with a soft heart and a curious spirit. He's a little reserved at firstâthink âpolite guy at the party who's not sure if he should sit or hover,â but once he feels comfortable, his gentle, affectionate side shines through. Let's talk about his social life: His Playdate with Mia: Samson recently had a playdate with Mia, a spirited female German Shepherd who came in full of energy (and some enthusiastic paw slaps). At first, Samson wasn't sure what to make of it, he looked a little awkward and unsure. But within minutes, he relaxed, flopped onto his back in the universal dog language of `I come in peace,` and joined in the fun. They ended up playing beautifully together! A Day at the Arboretum: One of our amazing volunteers took Samson out for a little field trip, and here's what she shared: Samson and I had a wonderful morning together. The original plan was to burn some energy, but he decided that taking his time to explore the arboretum was much more his style. He was a little unsure about loading into the car, but once in, he settled REALLY well...so well behaved. Once we arrived, he was super interested in smelling all the plants and walking around. We stopped and said hi to people along the way, and he was a little shy, but friendly with everyone! He was interested in the local wildlife but was not inclined to chase. We did not encounter other dogs but a playmate would help him come out of his shell. I love him so much!! _______________________________ What Samsonâs Looking For: Samson would thrive in a home that gives him a little time to warm up and space to grow more confident. He has shown that he really enjoys the company of other friendly dogs and would likely blossom even more with a calm canine companion to show him the ropes. That said, he's also perfectly content being your one and only. If you're looking for a loyal, mellow sidekick who is just as happy going on nature walks as he is lounging at your feet, Samson is ready to fill that role with his whole heart.
