Description
Dog Breed: Boxer / Labrador Retriever / Mixed. Hi there! My name is Scooby and I am 2 years old! I am a super sweet boy that can be a little shy of new people and surroundings but once I realize you're safe, I LOVE you! I love to give kisses and gentle hugs. I like to go for walks (and I walk well on the leash) and I enjoy cuddles. I like squeaky toys and balls. I was surrendered to the shelter with a couple of other dogs due to our owner's decline in health, and I am a bit confused as to what is going on. I am housetrained and I was crated in my old home. My owner says I really enjoyed being outside in the yard where I could run whenever I wanted... and that I liked to hog the food, so if you have other dogs in the home, make sure you feed me separately or I will eat everyone's kibble! Please consider taking me home or on a walk! I really want to connect with you!Give the shelter a call at (574) 267-3008 or email them at infoawlwarsaw if you have any questions about me! If not, stop by the shelter at 1048 S 325 E in Pierceton, IN 46562 to look at me! No appointments necessary!

Breed overview
Overview:
The Boxador, a popular designer dog, is a lively crossbreed resulting from the union of a Boxer and a Labrador Retriever. Originating in North America, this hybrid was developed to combine the best traits of its parent breeds, creating a loyal and energetic companion. Physically, Boxadors are medium to large-sized dogs with a muscular build, typically weighing between 50-80 pounds. Their coat is short and dense, varying in color from brindle and fawn to black and chocolate, often displaying the distinctive Boxer mask or the gentle Lab expression. Temperamentally, they are known for being friendly, intelligent, and highly social, making them excellent family pets that thrive on interaction. While adaptable, their energy levels mean they require regular exercise and are best suited for homes with yards rather than small apartments. Prospective owners should be aware of potential health concerns inherited from their parent breeds, such as hip and elbow dysplasia, certain cancers, and heart conditions like aortic stenosis.
