Whether she’s chasing a toy, wrestling with her dog friends, or happily chewing on her favorite bone, this girl knows how to enjoy life. Her absolute favorite thing is playing with other dogs, and she would love a home with a playful canine companion or plenty of opportunities for doggy playdates. Fawna is also curious about cats. She may try to invite them to play, but she’s respectful and will back off when they let her know they’re not interested. With her happy personality, playful spirit, and sweet nature, Fawna is sure to bring lots of joy and laughter to her forever family. Applications can be filled out at .piedmontanimalrescue/adopt! Please also make sure your pets are up to date on you species applicable Vaccines (rabies, Distemper/Parvo, FVRCP, Bordetella), spayed/neutered, and on Heartworm prevention if a canine. The adoption fee includes their age appropriate vaccinations(DA2PP and Bordetella), Dewormer, spay/neuter, microchip, heartworm test as well as the registration of their microchip information to you.

A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
