Description
Dog Breed: Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed. To adopt please fill out an adoption application. Be sure to watch her video! Trina is a 4 month old female pit bull puppy who was rescued just in time from the Memphis Animal Shelter. Friendly, happy, playful, well-socialized, never meets a stranger! This pup lives in the house with her foster family where she's lovingly cared for while awaiting her forever home. Great with other dogs and living comfortably with several other dogs in her foster home. Not cat tested. Fine with kids but still a little mouthy and responds well to NO BITE! Obedience training begun and she’s very responsive and learns quickly! Medium-high energy level outside, settles down quickly in the house. Crate trained, about 75% housebroken. Good on a leash, rides great in the car. DOB estimated 12-10-25. Weighs about 20 pounds and expected to be a medium size dog when fully grown. Healthy, altered and utd on shots. This is a happy puppy who will make a great companion (and jogging partner) for an active family who loves the breed. To adopt please fill out an adoption application. Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
