Description
Dog Breed: Chihuahua (short coat). Adoption Fee: 200. Sweet Gabby is back with us... Gabby was adopted right before Christmas, but unfortunately she was returned this weekend due to house-training challenges. As we always share, we can never guarantee a dog will be fully house-trained—especially in a new environment where routines are different. The good news? Gabby does very well when she has a consistent schedule and does great when crated or kept in a pen while you’re away. Gabby is a very sweet, mellow girl who is 6-7 years old and truly deserves a forever home where she can finally settle in and not be bounced around again. She also previously lived with another small dog with no issues She is fully vetted, has had a recent dental cleaning, and is ready to go to a loving home. If you are serious about giving Gabby the stability she deserves, please apply. Her adoption fee is a $200 donation to the rescue. Let’s find this sweet girl the forever home she’s been waiting for. form.jotform/241745142308149 .chapmansdox/adopt

Overview:
The Chihuahua, a captivating breed known for its diminutive size, boasts an ancient and somewhat mysterious origin, with most theories pointing to Mexico as its birthplace, potentially descending from the "Techichi," a small companion dog of the Toltec civilization. Physically, they are easily recognizable by their small, compact bodies, large expressive eyes, and erect ears, appearing in both smooth and long-coated varieties, showcasing a vast array of colors and markings. Despite their tiny stature, Chihuahuas possess a big personality; they are often described as spirited, alert, and fiercely loyal to their owners, sometimes displaying a bold and confident demeanor. While their small size makes them exceptionally well-suited for apartment living, they thrive in homes where they receive ample attention and mental stimulation. They can be good family pets for older children who understand how to interact gently with a small dog, but their delicate build makes them less suitable for boisterous toddlers. Regarding health, Chihuahuas can be prone to certain conditions like patellar luxation, heart problems, and dental issues, making regular veterinary check-ups crucial for their well-being.
