Description
Dog Breed: Chow Chow. Meet Jinjer - Your Fun-Loving Fetch Champion Jinjer is a sweet, playful girl who brings joy everywhere she goes. She absolutely lives for her toys, especially balls, and could happily play fetch from sunrise to sunset. If you're looking for a dog who will keep you smiling and keep you moving, she's your girl. Jinjer does well with other dogs and enjoys having buddies to romp around with. Because she's energetic and enthusiastic in her play style, she would do best in a home with older kids who can match her fun, bouncy personality. When she's not chasing a ball, Jinjer is affectionate, people oriented, and always ready for attention from her humans. She's the perfect mix of spirited and sweet, and she's ready to bring laughter, love, and lots of playtime to her forever family. The adoption fee for all of our dogs is $300.00 and that includes their vaccinations, spay or neuter, rabies and microchip. To start the process please visit our website and fill out the adoption application (.dfwrescueme) and from there the foster family can answer any questions and arrange a time to meet. Jinjer is participating in the DFW Rescue Me guest dog program, ongoing care and custody is provided by her foster, not by DFWRM.

Overview:
The Chow Chow, an ancient breed originating from China, is easily recognized by its distinctive lion-like mane, deep-set eyes, and unique blue-black tongue. These medium-sized dogs boast a dense double coat, which can be either rough or smooth, in a variety of colors including red, black, blue, cinnamon, and cream. Known for their reserved and independent nature, Chows often display a cat-like aloofness, making them more suitable for experienced owners who appreciate a dignified companion rather than an overly effusive one. While generally calm, their protective instincts can make them wary of strangers, so early socialization is crucial. They are adaptable to apartment living due to their moderate exercise needs, but require regular grooming to maintain their coat. Potential owners should be aware of breed-specific health concerns such as hip and elbow dysplasia, and certain eye conditions like entropion.
