Description
Dog Breed: Boxer (short coat). Meet Tucker — professional co-pilot, certified good boy, and survivor with a story that needs a happy next chapter. This 4-ish year old fawn boxer wandered onto someone’s property and didn't leave for several days. He stuck close to a kind human who fed him and provided water until we could scoop him up. And the second he got in the car? Instant exhale. Curled up, settled in, and rode off like he knew his life was finally turning around. Tucker carries a visible piece of his past—a long scar down his back that’s still healing and missing some fur. We don’t know what he’s been through, but we do know it didn’t take away his gentle, easygoing nature. At the vet, he was a rockstar with both people and other dogs. No drama, no fuss… just a really good dog who’s ready to belong somewhere. A home where the only thing he has to worry about is which comfy spot to nap in next. Available in the Northeast (NY, NJ, CT, RI, VT, PA, DE, MD, NoVA) Apply to adopt: .chboxerrescue/adopt Tucker made it off the streets. Let’s get him all the way home.

Overview:
The Boxer is a medium-sized, short-haired dog breed of German origin, known for its distinctive appearance and vibrant personality. Physically, Boxers possess a strong, athletic build with a characteristic square head, an undershot jaw, and often a docked tail and cropped ears (though these practices are becoming less common). Their short, glossy coat typically comes in fawn or brindle, often with white markings. Temperamentally, Boxers are renowned for being incredibly loyal, intelligent, and energetic, making them fantastic companions for active families. They thrive on human interaction and can be playful and patient with children, making them excellent family pets. While their energy levels require regular exercise, their adaptability means they can adjust to apartment living if their activity needs are consistently met. However, potential owners should be aware of certain health considerations, including a predisposition to some cancers, heart conditions like cardiomyopathy, and hip dysplasia, underscoring the importance of responsible breeding and regular veterinary check-ups.
