Description
Dog Breed: Shepherd / Mixed. Pennington County Humane Society Shepherd Mix Litter Seeking Foster or Transfer to a Trusted Partner This adorable litter of Shepherd‑mix puppies is growing healthy, social, and curious. They're still very young, learning the world one wiggly step at a time, and each pup is already showing a sweet, people‑oriented personality. They love exploring, snuggling in, and being part of the daily routine in their foster home. Because they're still developing and have a few weeks left before they're ready for adoption, we're looking for additional support to help them continue thriving. This litter is available for: Foster care (short‑term or foster‑to‑adopt when age‑appropriate) Transfer to a trusted partner organization These pups will do best in homes or partner programs that can provide structure, gentle guidance, and lots of love as they grow. If you're able to help this litter through fostering or transfer we'd love to connect. Contact Pennington County Humane Society 📞 218‑681‑8045 Pennington County Humane Society

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
