Description
Dog Breed: Cane Corso Mastiff / Mixed. Meet Dallas! Dallas is a sweet, beautiful girl with an incredible story of survival. She was found dumped at a playground, heavily pregnant and ready to have her puppies. Once she arrived at the shelter, she gave birth to her babies, but the stress of shelter life was overwhelming. Sadly, Dallas and her puppies found themselves on the euthanasia list until AZ Mastiff Rescue received the plea to help. Now Dallas is safe, and she is ready for the next chapter of her life. Dallas is a loving girl who is currently doing well with a male dog. She enjoys playing with toys, loves going for walks, and is good with kids. After everything she has been through, Dallas deserves a family who will love her, protect her, and show her that she will never be abandoned again. Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
