Dog Breed: Terrier / Mixed (medium coat). Age: approx 12 years old Weight: 13 lbs My adoption fee is $ 275 which includes transportation charges to the Northeast. Talivar is deaf Hi there! My name is Talivar, and I’m looking for a special family to spend my golden years with. I am deaf and may not see as well as I use to, but now that I am taking daily drops that may help. I still enjoy life very much. My favorite place to be is outside! I love exploring a fenced yard, sniffing all the interesting smells, or going for leisurely walks on a leash. There’s just something wonderful about fresh air and sunshine. I’m a people-loving guy and enjoy being close to my humans. I also get along well with other dogs, so I wouldn’t mind having a canine friend around. At bedtime, I sleep quietly in my crate and settle in nicely. Because I’m a senior fellow, stairs aren’t really my thing anymore. I’m also still working on my potty training, so I’ll need a patient family willing to help me stay on a routine. When I move to a new home, I may feel a little uncertain at first. I might whine while I’m learning my new surroundings and figuring out where I belong. Change can be hard for a dog like me. But if you give me time, patience, and love, I promise I’ll settle in and show you what a sweet companion I can be. What I really want is simple: a safe home, kind people, and plenty of time outdoors. If you think we might be a good match, I’d love to meet you. A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
