Dog Breed: Pit Bull Terrier (medium coat). I like the simple things in life. The click of a leash. The word âwalk.â The way the world smells different every single time we step outside. I take my job seriously... sniffing every corner, checking every tree, making sure everything is exactly as it should be. You call it âtaking too long.â I call it understanding the universe. But honestly? Iâd walk anywhere, as long as youâre at the other end of the leash. When we get home, Iâm not complicated. A soft spot on the floor, maybe a couch if I can sneak it, and Iâm happy.I donât ask for much. Just your time, your company, and maybe that last bite you said you werenât going to share. Everything I love smells a little like you.

In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
