Description
Dog Breed: Bichon Frise / Shih Tzu / Mixed. Meet Scout! He's a shih tzu bichon mix looking for his forever home! He's about a year old and 18 pounds. He is high energy and full of personality, and he craves attention, play, love, and cuddles. He's been through training classes, and is crate trained, great on a leash, and a good running buddy if that's your thing. Scout is wonderful with kids. He's spent a lot of time around kids of all ages and they are absolutely smitten with him. He does great with other dogs too, especially ones who like to play. We'd love to see him go to a home with a fenced yard. He has a lot of joy to burn. He was adopted by a wonderful family, but their little girl has severe allergies. Her doctors said he could be the culprit, even though he's certified hypoallergenic breeds with papers. The family was heartbroken. He's back with South Jersey Rescue now, through no fault of his own, and he came back even better than he left.

Breed overview
Overview:
The Zuchon, a delightful cross between the Bichon Frise and Shih Tzu, is a small companion dog cherished for its affectionate nature and charming appearance. With a fluffy, soft coat that often resembles a teddy bear, the Zuchon typically weighs between 10–20 pounds, making it an ideal choice for apartment living or homes with limited space. Known for their gentle temperament, they thrive in family settings, bonding closely with children and adults alike. Their playful yet adaptable personality ensures they fit well into both active households and quieter environments. While generally healthy, the Zuchon may inherit minor issues common to small breeds, such as dental concerns or eye conditions, so regular veterinary care is recommended. Overall, this breed is a loving, loyal companion that brings warmth and joy to any home.
