Dog Breed: Great Pyrenees / Mixed (medium coat). Meet Kyla! Kyla is a Great Pyrenees mix who came from Arkansas with her 11 other brothers and sisters, and is looking for a new place to call home. Kyla has been doing really well! She loves everyone she meets. She loves playing with other dogs. Her 2 best friends are a Bernese Mountain Dog and a Great Dane! She's also respectful of the old lady dog when she tells Kyla she's "too much". She has shown a little bit of food aggression towards the other dogs, but never to us. We feed her in her kennel to show her that it's a safe space, and she's been doing well as long as the other dogs don't approach her. Kyla loves the baby at our home, and is very good with her, but she's pretty sure that the baby toys are actually HER toys. She seems to like the toys that are more rubbery than stuffed toys, and she really likes pushing her Benebones around the house. She also loves the rope toys with balls on the end of them. Potty training is going pretty well. Kyla lets us know overnight if she needs to go, and she figured out the bells on the door to go out. That being said, you need to be quick! When she has to go, she has to go NOW (and if you're too slow, that's on you). She also still "excited piddles" whenever you go to let her out of her kennel or go to hook her up. But she doesn't really have accidents otherwise, and has only pooped in the house once. She's also doing really well on a leash, but does occasionally "walk herself". She has a bit of a rock fetish, and we aren't really sure if she's trying to eat them or just play with them. We don't take the time to find out. Same with dirt, sticks, dandelions... she also loves laying in tall grass or plants, so plan on your garden looking a little squashed this summer. Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue.
