Description
Dog Breed: Terrier / Mixed (medium coat). Forever Home Wanted: Meet Oso! Oso’s story could’ve gone sideways — he was found after being shot with BBs, and we braced ourselves for surgery. But Oso had other plans. No surgery needed — just a permanent little limp that he completely ignores. And honestly, that fits him perfectly, because Oso is all about enjoying life. He loves people, gets along great with other dogs, and moves through the world like nothing is going to slow him down. He’s also potty trained, which makes settling into a home that much easier. Oso does have a bit of a prey drive when it comes to small animals like chickens and rabbits, so a home without small pets would be the best fit for him. He’s happy, social, resilient, and incredibly easy to love. Limp and all, Oso is the kind of dog who reminds you that strength can come with a wagging tail and a joyful spirit. If Oso sounds like he could be the perfect fit for your home, fill out an application at .labradorsandfriends. Oso is located in Southern California.

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
