Description
Dog Breed: Cattle Dog / Mixed (medium coat). Adoption Fee: $300.00. Hi, I’m Alfredo I’m a 1 year old heeler mix with a heart full of love and not a single mean bone in my body. I love people more than anything, and if you’re into cuddles and kisses… we’re already a perfect match I get along amazing with other dogs of all sizes and even cats. I’m pretty mellow most of the time, but don’t get me wrong I love a good walk or some playtime with my human too. It’s all about balance! One little thing about me: I don’t quite understand jumping yet. So if I want to join you on the couch or hop into the car, I’ll need a little lift. I promise I make up for it with extra cuddles once I’m there. I’m potty trained with a doggy door and crate trained too! Living in a house is still kind of new for me, so sometimes I get a little nervous in unfamiliar rooms or on slippery hardwood floors but I’m learning really fast that the world isn’t so scary after all. All I really want is a loving home where I can feel safe, keep learning, and be your loyal companion. If you’re looking for a sweet, gentle, and affectionate best friend… I’m right here waiting for you. Apply to meet me at bit.ly/RRAdoptionApplication

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
