Description
Dog Breed: Boxer (short coat). Venus & Serena It almost sounds made up… but this is real rescue. Two young boxer girls were abandoned on a rural property and left to fend for themselves. Kind neighbors had been spotting them on and off for a week—and finally couldn’t sit back any longer. They stepped in. Serena was secured first. Venus vanished. As night fell, the search for Venus was paused—leaving her out there alone near roads, wildlife, and incoming storms. Later the next day, Venus was spotted walking along a highway. We got to her just in time. She climbed into the car, reunited with her sister… and immediately fell asleep—completely exhausted, finally safe. The Girls: • 6 months old • Sweet, shy, and zero training • Venus (smaller) is being treated for non contagious demodex • Not reactive to other dogs but not dog tested (currently in quarantine) • Will be fully vetted & spayed once healthy You can't make this stuff up! They will be ready for adoption 5/2 Available in the Northeast (NY, NJ, CT, RI, VT, PA, DE, MD, NoVA) Apply: .chboxerrescue/adopt

A.K.A.: Deutscher Boxer, German Boxer, Dutch Boxer, Boxer dog, Boxy, Boxerman
Overview:
The Boxer is a medium-sized, short-haired dog breed of German origin, known for its distinctive appearance and vibrant personality. Physically, Boxers possess a strong, athletic build with a characteristic square head, an undershot jaw, and often a docked tail and cropped ears (though these practices are becoming less common). Their short, glossy coat typically comes in fawn or brindle, often with white markings. Temperamentally, Boxers are renowned for being incredibly loyal, intelligent, and energetic, making them fantastic companions for active families. They thrive on human interaction and can be playful and patient with children, making them excellent family pets. While their energy levels require regular exercise, their adaptability means they can adjust to apartment living if their activity needs are consistently met. However, potential owners should be aware of certain health considerations, including a predisposition to some cancers, heart conditions like cardiomyopathy, and hip dysplasia, underscoring the importance of responsible breeding and regular veterinary check-ups.
