Description
Dog Breed: Terrier / Mixed. Meet Euna! Euna is as unique as her name! Euna came to us from the reservation land as a scared, skinny and quite matted lady. Since being in our care, getting a good haircut and being well fed, this princess has really come into her own skin. She loves attention, will let you hold her and definitely is convinced she is a lap dog. She is still learning how to walk on the leash and can be a little frightened by loud, unfamiliar sounds. She would love someone to give her plenty of cuddles and has done okay with the few dogs she has met. Currently still on the skinny side, she only weighs 26 pounds, but could stand to gain some weight. She is a little over a year old. Euna is spayed, microchipped, up to dates on vaccines, dewormed heartworm negative and started on monthly flea and heartworm prevention. Her adoption fee is $350 All Mountain Pet Rescue (Asheville) animals are up-to-date on vaccinations, spayed/neutered and micro-chipped before adoption. Please note that visual breed identification of companion animals has been proven to be unreliable, so for most of our animals we provide a best guess at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our animals as an individual and do our best to describe and place pets based on personality not breed label. A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
