Description
Dog Breed: Belgian Shepherd Malinois (medium coat). Sweet, loyal, and endlessly affectionate â this good boy is ready to find his forever home. Kodak is a beautiful, happy Belgian Malinois with a heart full of love. He's been called `the best boy` â waiting patiently in his kennel, tail wagging, just hoping you'll open the door and take him out. Visiting a volunteer's home, he settled in immediately, stayed close to his person, and appeared fully house-trained. He's a natural cuddler who loves to lean in close. Outside, he walks well on a leash. He's curious about squirrels, but redirects easily without pulling. He's calm and unbothered around other dogs, big or small. In the car, he's completely at ease â happy to nap or ride with his head out the window. Kodak can feel nervous around unfamiliar men and large crowds â a patient adopter willing to work on socialization will help him blossom. He does great with couples and in quieter environments. He will make a super companion, playmate, and hiking buddy! To meet our very handsome Kodak, make an appointment at yoloshelter/dogs or email adoptyoloshelter

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
