Description
Dog Breed: Siberian Husky (medium coat). Iâm not as fast as I used to be, and my muzzleâs turned a soft shade of white, but donât let that fool you! Iâve still got a whole lot of love left to give. Iâm a senior husky, which means Iâve mastered the art of the slow stroll, the perfectly timed nap, and the soulful gaze that gets me just one more treat. Or two. I live for the quiet moments now. A warm spot by your side, a gentle hand scratching behind my ears, the sound of your voice telling me Iâm a good boy (I am, by the way). Treats? Oh, I still get excited for those. My ears perk up, my tail gives a hopeful wag, and for a moment, I feel like that young pup again. But more than anything, Iâm ready for a home where I can spend my golden years surrounded by kindness, patience, and love. I donât need much... just a soft place to rest, a few tasty snacks, and someone who sees the beauty in a dog whoâs lived a full life and still has so much heart left to share. If youâve got room in your life for a loyal old soul, I promise Iâll make every day a little warmer.

Siberian Husky
A.K.A.: Husky, Arctic Husky, Chukcha, Chukchi, Chukchi Sled Dog, Sibe, Sibes, Sled Dog, Snow Dog
Overview:
The Siberian Husky is a striking and beloved breed, originating from Northeast Asia where they were bred by the Chukchi people for pulling sleds over long distances in harsh conditions. Physically, they are easily recognizable by their medium size, thick double coat (available in various colors and markings), and often captivating blue or bi-colored eyes. Their temperament is typically friendly, outgoing, and playful, making them generally good with children and other dogs. However, their independent and sometimes stubborn nature, coupled with a strong prey drive, means consistent training and secure containment are essential. While affectionate, their high energy levels and need for significant exercise make them less suitable for sedentary lifestyles or tiny apartments; a house with a securely fenced yard is often preferred. Health-wise, they are generally robust but can be prone to certain conditions like hip and elbow dysplasia and eye problems such as cataracts and progressive retinal atrophy. Overall, a Siberian Husky thrives with active families committed to meeting their exercise and mental stimulation needs.
