Description
Dog Breed: German Shepherd Dog. Little Dipper is a 10-week-old Shepherd/Husky mix with a soft brown, medium-length coat and an even softer personality to match. Currently weighing in at 11 pounds, he’s expected to grow into a medium-sized dog (around 26–60 pounds), the perfect size for both adventures and couch snuggles. This sweet pup is everything you’d hope for in a young dog: playful, curious, and eager to learn. Little Dipper is already picking up on potty training quickly and shows great progress every day. He’s also doing wonderfully with crate training, after a brief adjustment, he now happily settles into his crate and treats it as his safe, cozy space. Like any puppy, he has bursts of playful energy followed by well-earned naps. He loves tug-of-war, squeaky toys, and anything he can chew on. One of his cutest quirks? He enjoys his daily “affirmations”, a sure sign he’ll thrive with a loving, attentive family. The only thing he’s still unsure about is the vacuum, but he’s gaining confidence every day. Little Dipper adjusted quickly to his foster home and continues to blossom into a happy, affectionate companion. If you’re looking for a fun-loving puppy who will keep you smiling, learning, and cuddling every day, Little Dipper might just be your perfect match. Overview:
The German Shepherd Dog, a truly iconic breed, originated in Germany in the late 19th century, primarily for herding sheep. They are easily recognizable by their athletic, medium-to-large build, typically weighing between 50-90 pounds, with a distinct double coat that can be black and tan, sable, or solid black. Known for their intelligence and loyalty, German Shepherds possess a remarkably trainable and courageous temperament, making them exceptional working dogs in fields like police and service work. While generally good with families when properly socialized, their high energy levels and need for mental stimulation make them unsuitable for apartment living without significant daily exercise. Prospective owners should be aware of common health concerns such as hip and elbow dysplasia, as well as degenerative myelopathy, underscoring the importance of responsible breeding and regular veterinary care.
