Description
Dog Breed: Boxer. 4/26/2026 Kenya is an owner surrender looking for anew home. Hi! My name is Kenya! I am a beautiful 7.5 year old white boxer that is an owner surrender due to my owner leaving me behind and my caretaker is unable to care for me. I am described as friendly, shy, active, smart, calm, playful, nervous, and obedient! I do not live with another dog and it is said that I get a little anxious around other dogs. I have never lived with a cat so it is uncertain if I am feline friendly. There are no children in my home but I have had exposure to kids in the family that come to visit and I am very friendly with them! I am crate trained, house trained, and if the humans must be away I am ok being left alone. When outside I do not attempt to jump fences/gates but I am curious what is under the grass and will dig to find out. If you are looking for a sweet companion to ride shotgun on adventures, contact the rescue today and give them my name because I am waiting to meet you!

Overview:
The Boxer is a medium-sized, short-haired dog breed of German origin, known for its distinctive appearance and vibrant personality. Physically, Boxers possess a strong, athletic build with a characteristic square head, an undershot jaw, and often a docked tail and cropped ears (though these practices are becoming less common). Their short, glossy coat typically comes in fawn or brindle, often with white markings. Temperamentally, Boxers are renowned for being incredibly loyal, intelligent, and energetic, making them fantastic companions for active families. They thrive on human interaction and can be playful and patient with children, making them excellent family pets. While their energy levels require regular exercise, their adaptability means they can adjust to apartment living if their activity needs are consistently met. However, potential owners should be aware of certain health considerations, including a predisposition to some cancers, heart conditions like cardiomyopathy, and hip dysplasia, underscoring the importance of responsible breeding and regular veterinary check-ups.
