He’s the sweetest little guy and absolutely loves people. If there’s a human nearby, that’s exactly where he wants to be. He’s full of puppy kisses and gives the best snuggles. He’s been doing great in his kennel—quiet all night and sleeps like a champ. He’s still working on potty training, but he’s just a baby, so he’s learning more every day. Pogo has been such a joy in the home. He gets along well with the older dog, but if he had to choose, he’d pick cuddling with his humans every time. And those spots on his back and ear? Even cuter in person. His coloring is so unique, and he’s already mastered the irresistible puppy eyes Just remember, he’s a puppy, so he’ll need some training, patience, and consistency. But he’s already off to a great start and is going to grow into such an amazing companion. A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
