Description
Dog Breed: Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed (short coat). Certified Good Boy Alert Meet Ellis!! At just 6.5 months old, Ellis is already checking all the boxes: neutered vaccinated microchipped ridiculously cute This little guy came to rescue after a rough start in life — weighing only 11 pounds at his lowest — but look at him now! Ellis has doubled in size, found his confidence, and is blossoming into the sweetest little sidekick. Ellis is dog social and does best with a patient, well-socialized pup buddy to show him the ropes. He’s also cool with cats, chickens, and other small critters. Basically… he’s building his own Disney princess squad. He’s almost fully potty trained, crate trained, walks great on leash, and is working hard at becoming the bestest boy there ever was. Ellis will need continued socialization, training, and a family willing to be patient while he keeps learning that the world isn’t such a scary place. In return? You get a goofy, lovable, resilient pup who’s ready to be your new best friend. Ready to make Ellis part of your crew? Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
