Description
Dog Breed: Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler / Red Heeler (medium coat). Meet Kennedy! Everyone else went home. One by one, Kennedy watched his brothers and sisters leave with their new families. Now he's the last puppy waiting, and he's trying so hard to be the very best boy while he waits for his turn. At just 14 weeks old, Kennedy is a gorgeous Heeler/Aussie mix with the sweetest heart and the most striking good looks. He's playful, goofy, smart, and loves collecting toys almost as much as he loves collecting cuddles. Whether he's bouncing around with another dog, making friends with the family cat, or curling up beside you after playtime, Kennedy is happiest when he's with his people. This little guy is already crate trained and sleeps through the night without a peep. He's working hard on house training, is learning to walk on a leash, and is eager to please. At around 13 pounds now, he's expected to be approximately 40–42 pounds full grown—the perfect size for adventures, couch snuggles, and everything in between. Kennedy is wonderful with dogs, cats, and kids. He has the kind of gentle, loving personality that makes everyone fall in love with him. What Kennedy doesn't know is why he's still waiting. Every day he wakes up happy, ready to play, ready to learn, and ready to love his family with his whole heart. The only thing missing is a family to call his own. Could that be you? Kennedy has been the best boy. Now it's time for someone to be his family. He's the perfect adventure buddy and cuddle partner all in one. Please share so Kennedy's family can finally find him. ❤️ Kennedy is UTD on vaccines, and will receive his final round, neuter, rabies and microchip the week of July 4th. If you are missing a part of your family and would like to meet this adorable little guy; please complete an application on our website; .legacyhumanesociety His foster mom will be in touch. Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
